Welcome
America’s Athletes
with Disabilities 21st Century Mission To initiate, stimulate and
promote the overall growth and development of sports,
recreation, leisure, health and fitness activities for
persons with physical disabilities targeting programs and
services for children and newly disabled adults in a manner
similar to the sports and recreational opportunities
afforded non disabled children and adults throughout
America.
Purpose:
Capacity Building-Assist
and support community base or grassroots organizations
serving athletes with disabilities organizational
advancement, through leadership training, accounting, public
relations, media relations, enhanced internet capacities,
financial independence and grassroots fundraising and
development.
Full
Participation-Enhance the quality
of life for persons with disabilities through a continuum of
sports, recreational and leisure activities designed to
improve self-esteem, confidence and social integration while
advocating the full participation of persons with
disabilities in all aspects of life.
Inclusion-Bring about greater
inclusion of persons with disabilities in education,
employment, housing, and transportation through the tools of
sports, fitness, leisure activities, health and well being,
recreation and the arts.
Fun &
Games-Under the banner of the
Victory Games Series
through America’s Athletes member and partner organizations of grassroots events
throughout the USA which provide children and adults with
disabilities crucial and valuable experience in personal
growth and achievement.

Fundraising and Advocacy—America’s
Athletes advocates and raises funds to help underwrite the
cost of disability sports and recreation programs across the
country. It provides a unified voice and funding mechanism
for its member and partner disabled sports organizations,
assuring that all people with different types of physical
disabilities will receive the opportunity to learn and
participate in community grassroots recreation and sports.
